The 12V 280Ah LiFePO4 Kon-TEC batteries are half the weight and provide more power output than traditional lead-acid, gel, or AGM batteries. LiFePO4 batteries are characterized by high energy density, meaning they can store a large amount of energy in a relatively small mass.
LiFePO4 batteries are capable of fast charging, which can be crucial, especially when time is important. Our lithium-ion batteries have very high efficiency (around 97%) and low internal resistance, allowing for fast charging with low energy loss. In comparison, lead-acid batteries lose power much faster during discharge.
Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries provide access to 100% of their nominal capacity, regardless of the load current. Lead-acid batteries, on the other hand, provide significantly less usable energy at higher loads. They are typically limited to only 50% of their nominal capacity to prevent shortening their lifespan.
LiFePO4 batteries maintain relatively stable voltage during discharge, which can affect the smooth operation of electrical devices. The difference in voltage between a fully charged and fully discharged LiFePO4 battery is only about 1.5~2V.
The lifespan of Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries is approximately 2500 cycles (full charge and discharge), 3500 cycles at 80% DoD, depending on the discharge level. In comparison, lead-acid batteries typically last only about 200-300 cycles at the same discharge level. The deeper the discharge, the shorter the battery's lifespan. Remember, after exceeding the above-mentioned number of cycles, the battery will still work, but its properties will degrade.
Li-ion battery costs may seem high upfront, but the investment made in purchasing them leads to significant long-term savings. Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries offer much higher efficiency and lifespan than traditional lead-acid batteries. Ultimately, this means far lower operating costs, replacement costs, and minimized downtime.
Typically, the cost of lead-acid batteries is spread over a period of at least one to three years. With LiFePO4 batteries, we can comfortably spread the purchase cost over five to seven years. With the maximum difference, one year with a lead-acid battery and five years with a LiFePO4 battery results in 2x to 3x lower operating costs for LiFePO4 batteries.
Remember that by connecting 12V batteries in series, you can achieve 24V, 36V, or 48V. A recommended additional component for such an installation is the KT-04 Balancer.
The battery has built-in protection against improper use. It protects against:
This practically prevents damage, significantly extending the battery's lifespan. The presented battery can be connected in series for higher voltage or in parallel to increase capacity. The maximum continuous working current is 200A.
LiFePO4 Battery can be used in a wide temperature range from -20°C to 60°C.
Note that LiFePO4 batteries should not be charged using chargers designed for lead-acid batteries. These chargers have a lower peak charging current and are not capable of fully charging a LiFePO4 battery.
Kon-TEC chargers have their own processor and PWM signal control technology. As a result, the DL series chargers have advantages such as: high efficiency, stability of parameters, low emissions, and energy efficiency. Through automatic current and voltage control, the charger ensures the battery is fully charged without dangerous overcharging. During the charging process, the battery is protected. Below, you can find information on charging times for the above battery.
