There are many advantages of using 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 Kon-TEC batteries:
Heating Pads and Wireless Communication
Kon-TEC MG batteries can be charged at low temperatures (below 0 degrees Celsius).
Integrated wireless communication with the Battery Management System (BMS) enables communication between the battery and a mobile device and allows real-time monitoring of battery parameters.
I. Wireless Communication
The batteries are equipped with wireless communication. Using a special application, you can monitor battery charge levels and lifespan.
Extract the application files on your phone and allow the installation.
II. 5-Year Warranty
The high quality of our batteries allows us to provide a five-year warranty.
III. Low Weight, High Power
12V 200Ah LiFePO4 Kon-TEC batteries are half the weight and deliver more power than traditional lead-acid, gel, or AGM batteries. LiFePO4 batteries are characterized by high energy density, meaning they can store a large amount of energy in a relatively small mass.
IV. Fast Charging and High Energy Efficiency
LiFePO4 batteries are capable of fast charging, which is important when time is critical. Our lithium-ion batteries have very high efficiency (approx. 97%) and low internal resistance, enabling quick charging with minimal energy losses. In comparison, lead-acid batteries lose power much faster during discharge.
V. 100% Capacity Regardless of Load
Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries provide 100% of the rated capacity regardless of the discharge current. Lead-acid batteries deliver significantly less usable energy under higher loads. They are usually also limited to only 50% of their nominal capacity to prevent lifespan reduction.
VI. Voltage Stability
LiFePO4 batteries maintain relatively stable voltage during discharge, which ensures even performance of electrical devices on a boat. The voltage difference between a fully charged and a discharged LiFePO4 battery is only about 1.5~2V.
VII. Very High Durability
The service life of Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries is about 6000 cycles (full charge and discharge), and 12000 cycles at 60% DoD, depending on battery usage. By comparison, a lead-acid battery used for photovoltaics, at the same discharge levels, usually lasts only about 200-300 cycles. The deeper the discharge, the shorter the lifespan. Remember that after exceeding the above-mentioned cycle numbers, the battery will still work, but its properties will deteriorate.
VIII. Performance Gains
The initial cost of lithium-ion batteries may seem high; however, the investment brings huge long-term savings. Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries offer much greater efficiency and longevity compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. Ultimately, this means significantly lower operating costs, replacement costs, and minimized downtime.
Typically, the cost of lead-acid batteries is spread over a minimum of one year up to a maximum of three years. In the case of LiFePO4 batteries, the cost can be spread comfortably over five to seven years. At the maximum difference, one year with a lead-acid battery versus five years with a LiFePO4 battery results in 2x to 3x lower operating costs for LiFePO4 batteries.
IX. From 12V Battery to 24V, 36V, or 48V Battery
Remember that by connecting 12V batteries in series, you can achieve 24V, 36V, or 48V. In such installations, it is recommended to use a KT-01 balancer or KT-04 balancer.
DESPITE THE HIGHER INITIAL PURCHASE COST OF THE 12V 200Ah LiFePO4 KON-TEC BATTERY, IT IS MORE COST-EFFECTIVE THAN A CLASSIC GEL/AGM BATTERY.
BMS
The battery is equipped with built-in protection against improper use and protects against:
Overcharging
Deep discharging
Reverse polarity
Overheating
Short-circuiting
Charging at subzero temperatures
This virtually prevents battery damage, significantly extending its lifespan. The presented battery can be connected in series to increase voltage or in parallel to increase capacity. The maximum continuous operating current is 200A.
The LiFePO4 battery can be used across a very wide temperature range from -20°C to 55°C. Thanks to the use of heating pads, it can also be charged in the range from -20°C to 50°C.
Charging
It is important to remember that chargers designed for lead-acid batteries should not be used to charge LiFePO4 batteries. These chargers have lower peak charging currents and cannot fully charge a LiFePO4 battery.
Kon-TEC chargers have their own processors and PWM signal control technology. Thanks to this, DL series chargers offer advantages such as high efficiency, parameter stability, low emissions, and energy savings. By automatically controlling the charging current and voltage, the charger ensures the battery is fully charged without the risk of dangerous overcharging. During the charging process, the battery is protected. Below you can find information on charging times for this battery.
