LiFePO4 12V Battery (12.8V) 50Ah Kon-TEC
Features of 12V 50Ah LiFePO4 Kon-TEC Batteries :
I. Wireless Communication
The batteries are equipped with wireless communication, allowing you to track the charge level and lifespan of the batteries using a special application. Link to download the application installation instructions.
II. 5 Years Warranty
The high quality of our batteries allows us to offer a five-year warranty on them.
III. Lightweight, High Power
Kon-TEC 12V 50Ah LiFePO4 batteries are half the weight and provide greater power output than traditional lead-acid, gel, or AGM batteries. LiFePO4 batteries are characterized by high energy density, meaning they can store a large amount of energy in a relatively small mass.
IV. Fast Charging and High Energy Efficiency
LiFePO4 batteries are capable of fast charging, which can be crucial, especially when time is of the essence. Our lithium-ion batteries have very high efficiency (approximately 97%) and low internal resistance, allowing for fast charging with minimal energy loss. In comparison, lead-acid batteries lose power much more quickly during discharge.
V. 100% Capacity Independent of Load
Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries ensure the use of 100% nominal capacity, regardless of the current load. In contrast, lead-acid batteries provide significantly less usable energy at higher loads. They are typically limited to only 50% of nominal capacity to prevent shortened lifespan.
VI. Voltage Stability
LiFePO4 batteries maintain relatively stable voltage during discharge, which can affect the smooth operation of electrical devices. The voltage difference between a fully charged LiFePO4 battery and a discharged one is only about 1.5~2V.
VII. Very High Durability
The lifespan of Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries is approximately 3000 cycles (full charge and discharge), 4500 cycles at 80% DoD, and 6000 cycles at 60% DoD, depending on battery discharge. In comparison, a lead-acid battery for photovoltaics at the same level of discharge typically lasts only about 200-300 cycles. The greater the degree of battery discharge, the shorter its lifespan. Remember that even after exceeding the mentioned number of cycles, the battery still operates, but its properties deteriorate.
VIII. Efficiency Gains
The costs of li-ion batteries may seem high upfront, but the investment made in their purchase results in significant long-term savings. Kon-TEC LiFePO4 batteries provide much higher efficiency and lifespan than traditional lead-acid batteries. Ultimately, this means significantly lower operating costs, replacement costs, and minimized downtime.
Typically, the cost of lead-acid batteries is spread over a minimum of one year to a maximum of three years. In the case of LiFePO4 batteries, we can comfortably spread the purchase cost over five to seven years. At the maximum difference, one year with a lead-acid battery versus five years with a LiFePO4 battery results in 2x to 3x lower cost of ownership for LiFePO4 batteries.
IX. From 12V Battery to 24V, 36V, or 48V Battery
Remember that by connecting 12V batteries in series, you can obtain 24V, 36V, or 48V. An additional element of such an installation is recommended: equalizer KT-01 or balancer KT-04.
DESPITE THE HIGHER INITIAL COST OF PURCHASING A 12V 50Ah LiFePO4 KON-TEC BATTERY, IT IS MORE COST-EFFECTIVE THAN A CLASSIC GEL/AGM BATTERY.
BMS (Battery Management System)
The battery is equipped with built-in protection against improper use, protecting against:
- overcharging
- excessive discharge
- reverse polarity
- overheating
- short circuit
- charging in negative temperatures
This practically prevents damage, significantly extending its lifespan. The presented battery can be connected in series to achieve higher voltage and in parallel to increase capacity. The maximum continuous operating current is 50A.
LiFePO4 Battery can be used in a very wide range of temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius.
Unlike other products available on the market, our battery has protection that prevents it from being charged in negative temperatures even when connected to a charger. LiFePo4 batteries cannot be charged below 0 degrees Celsius as it may damage them.
An exception is batteries with heating mats, which can be charged in negative temperatures. If you plan to use a boat in conditions that require charging in negative temperatures, check out the battery with heating mats KT-LFP12100MG.
Charging
It should be noted that chargers designed for lead-acid batteries should not be used to charge LiFePO4 batteries. These chargers have a lower charging current and cannot fully charge the LiFePO4 battery.
Kon-TEC chargers have their own processor and PWM signal control technology. Thanks to this, DL series chargers have such advantages as high efficiency, parameter stability, low emissions, and energy efficiency. Through automatic control of charging current and voltage, the charger ensures complete charging of the battery without the risk of overcharging. The battery is protected during the charging process. Below are the charging times for the above battery.
